Positive Behavior Support program offers free three-day Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) training on February 11-13, 2025

The Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program and the ACEs Coalition of West Virginia are hosting a free three-day training all about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on February 11-13, 2025 from 10-11:30 a.m. each day.
This three-part training aims to provide professionals with an overview of ACEs, including prevention and resiliency. All three sessions must be attended consecutively.
After attending the three sessions, participants will be able to:
- Understand what ACEs are and the impact they have on children and adults, including how COVID-19 may impact ACEs
- Become familiar with the 10 types of ACEs and the basic brain science behind them
- Introduce ways to overcome ACEs
- Introduce steps individuals, families, schools and providers can do to prevent ACEs
- Learn ways to teach resiliency
- Understand variables related to resilience; protective factors; and safe, stable and nurturing relationships and environments
- Provide brief overview of impact of trauma
- Learn to identify some of the root causes of ACEs
- Identify best practices for preventing ACEs
- Identify what you and your organization can do to prevent ACEs
