Visit the WVATS AT Virtual Loan Library
The West Virginia Assistive Technology System’s(WVATS) Assistive Technology Virtual Loan Library is an online collection of assistive technology devices, books and other resources for people with disabilities and chronic health conditions, their families and service providers. The devices can be borrowed for a short-term loan of up to four weeks.
Borrowing and trying out a device before a person purchases assistive technology (AT) ensure their money is being well spent. The virtual library allows consumers to see a picture, read a detailed description and borrow an item from the comfort of their homes or workplace.
Everyone can browse and search the contents of the library; however, patrons must contact WVATS at 1-800-841-8436 or wvats@hsc.wvu.eduto sign up as users (a free service) to borrow an item from the library.
All photos that accompany items in the Virtural Library are of the actual items for loan. Software listed in the Library can not be borrowed because of copyright issues. However information will be provided explaining how to obtain a free trial of the software, if available, or how to contact the vendor.

When you visit the Virtual Library page you will notice that there is a bulletin board for user postings, we ask that you use this space to post used, worn, or outdated AT for giveaway, trade/or sell. Any disclosure of patron contact information on the bulletin board is the patron's choice. WVATS will NOT be held responsible for the disclosure of information such as phone numbers, addresses, etc. WVATS has no way of monitoring the condition or price of an item listed on the bulletin board; for this reason, WVATS is not responsible in any way for equipment listed by patrons.
