Aquaponics is a combination of Aquaculture and Hydroponics. In aquaponics, vegetation is planted in gravel and water and fertilizer is circulated over the beds to give the plants the nutrients needed to grow. Results from this Aquaponic Project will be useful to farmers and entrepreneurs as a possible means to enhance profits from traditional farming operations. The Aquaculture Component of the Mineral County Vocational Technical Center is located in Keyser, West Virginia.
