- Barbara Blumish and Jamie Hayhurst-Marshall presented at the “Early Childhood: A Time to Soar, Celebrating Connections 2008” conference in Charleston, West Virginia. Barbara presented a workshop titled “Early Intervention for Positive Behavior Support” on February 21, 2008 and Jamie presented a workshop titled “Assistive Technology for Youngsters-Exploring the Basics and Beyond” on February 22, 2008.
- Lori Risk, Melina Danko and Scott Davis presented information about disability awareness, person first language and including individuals with disabilities into volunteer programs at the Division of Rehabilitation Services in Institute, West Virginia on February 27, 2008. The training was replicated at the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol training facility for emergency preparedness and disaster organizations on March 17, 2008 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
- Milisa Cutlip, an undergraduate psychology student, gave a presentation on the research she been conducting for the Fine Arts Program on March 24, 2008 at the CED in Morgantown.
- The CED welcomes Tammy Hare, Rural Outreach Coordinator. Tammy, who has a farm background, will coordinate West Virginia AgrAbility, Green Thumbs Healthy Joints and Taking Charge of Your Health and Safety. To contact Tammy, call 293-4692 x 1185 or e-mail her at thare@hsc.wvu.edu.
- The CED would like to thank Barbara Blumish for donating 42 children's videos to the CED Resource Center.
- In March, the Fair Housing Initiatives Program, was featured on “Access for All: Supports and Services in Your Community,” the Center's TV show that is aired on the West Virginia Library Commission Network and throughout the state.
